Fort Worth's technology scene doesn't always receive the same national attention as Austin or Dallas.
That doesn't mean it isn't growing.
The city's technology ecosystem spans several different industries, including software, logistics technology, cybersecurity, aerospace, defense and business IT.
Organizations such as TechFW work with founders, researchers, investors and business partners throughout the region.
That ecosystem matters because technology companies don't develop in isolation.
They need customers, investors, engineers, service providers, universities and other businesses.
Fort Worth has a unique advantage in that regard.
The city's existing industrial base gives technology companies an unusually broad group of potential customers. A startup building logistics software, for example, has a very different opportunity in Fort Worth than it would in a city dominated entirely by consumer technology.
The same applies to aerospace, defense and manufacturing.
Instead of trying to copy Silicon Valley, Fort Worth has an opportunity to build around the industries it already knows.
